Open 24/7, the Admissions Department needs volunteers particularly from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Saturday. Skills the Admissions department is looking for include wayfinding, which is helping people find their way through the building, and giving customer service.

Responsibilities include the following:

• Attending the waiting room
• Escorting patients
• Assisting with directions
• Finding relatives
• Giving measures of comfort

Admissions volunteers need to coordinate with the Emergency Department clinical staff. Volunteers will need to be able to push patients in wheelchairs. Hazards might include encountering infectious diseases or occasional body fluids. Admissions welcomes professional and courteous teens and adults to volunteer.
