Piedmont Fayette Bill Taylor Golf Tournament

Through this tournament and other annual fundraisers, the Piedmont Newton Hospital Auxiliary raises funds to improve the health and welfare of the residents of Newton and surrounding counties – bringing care close to home. While we have a lot of fun, there is a serious purpose behind our tournament. This year we will be raising money to purchase a Transcutaneous Oxygen Monitor. Blood flow is important for wound healing, and a “TCOM” is a non-invasive way to assess the blood flow to an affected limb, giving the doctor a clear picture of the ability for the tissue to heal. Our Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center cares for many residents from this area who have severe complications due to their diagnoses. Through this fundraiser, we also seek to raise awareness in the local community regarding the complications diabetic patients may face, and that prevention and proper management of the disease process is key to preventing amputations.

It is through the generous donations of community leaders, physicians, businesses, and friends like you that we have been able to update our facility. Funds from last year’s tournament purchased TIMS speech recording technology to evaluate speech and swallowing impairment caused by conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s, dementia, and head injuries.
