Erin Dunbar. M.D. specializes in the comprehensive care of brain tumor
patients. She earned her medical degree from the University of Florida. She completed her internal medicine residency and her medical oncology fellowship at the University of Florida. She completed a dedicated neuro-oncology fellowship at Johns Hopkins University. Most recently, she completed a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center located in Gainesville, Florida. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from Florida State University.
Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Dunbar co-directed the Preston A. Wells, Jr. Center for Brain Tumor Therapy at the University of Florida. She is an active member the following academic societies where she is involved in the care of primary and metastatic brain and spinal tumors, including the Society of Neuro-Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Academy of Neurology, and the Georgia Society of Clinical Oncology. She is an active clinical researcher and collaborates with other institutions, consortia, and industry.
Dr. Dunbar is committed to providing the highest level of compassionate care to patients, caregivers and referring physicians. This is exemplified by her active involvement in clinical trials as well as numerous educational and support services. This is also exemplified by her service in organizations dedicated to the advocacy and education of cancer patients â€” as well as the clinicians who serve them, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Community Oncology Alliance. Her hobbies include running and traveling with friends and family.
