Piedmont Athens Regional Financial Assistance
The Financial Assistance Program allows us to provide assistance to eligible patients unable to pay for their medical care. Eligible patients can receive free or reduced-cost services based on income level as compared to the federal poverty guidelines. We also have an outside vendor, MedAssist, Inc., that screens patients needing financial assistance for medical services. Visit the Piedmont Healthcare financial assistance page for more information.
Accepted Insurance Plans
Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center is an 'in-network' hospital with more than 50 insurance plans, as well as the Medicaid, Medicare and Champus programs. These plans provide or arrange for health insurance for individuals, employees of companies, and their dependents.

Cashier Windows
Our Cashier Windows in Talmadge Tower I are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Cashier Window at the Discharge Desk in the Emergency Department is open around the clock. Payments made at the Cashier Window will be posted on the following day.

Business Office
After you are discharged, all questions concerning your account should be directed to the Business Office in Talmadge Tower Entrance One at Registration. The Business Office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and can be reached by phone at 706-475-3520 or 1-800-768-7425.
