Monroe, Ga. (November 11, 2025) – Piedmont Walton Hospital’s trauma team will host its first National Injury Prevention Day Expo on Tuesday, Nov. 18, offering the community a chance to learn life-saving techniques and connect with safety-focused organizations.
The free event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the hospital’s main lobby and is open to the public.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with organizations that provide education on fire safety, distracted driving prevention, gun safety, drug addiction and overdose awareness, and car seat safety. Piedmont Walton’s trauma team will also offer hands-on instruction in Stop the Bleed techniques, fall prevention, hands-only CPR, active shooter response, human trafficking awareness, and more.
“This expo is a great opportunity for our community to learn practical skills that can save lives,” said Lisa Thomas, trauma performance improvement and injury prevention coordinator at Piedmont Walton Hospital. “We encourage everyone to take advantage of this event and become more prepared to respond in emergency situations.”
