Athens, Ga. (October 16, 2025) – Piedmont Athens Regional has announced its annual Promise 360 Award recipients, recognizing team members who exemplify Piedmont’s core values of championing patient-centered care, exemplifying teamwork and connections, being an owner, and embracing the future.
Each year, honorees are selected from among monthly winners recognized throughout the year, with two spotlight recipients and one annual champion chosen to represent the hospital at the Piedmont President’s Award celebration, where annual winners from across the system are honored.
This year’s Promise 360 honorees are Clayton Cooper, Dana Dunlap and Lauren Irvine, whose actions have made a lasting impact on patients, families and the community.
Champion Award: Clayton Cooper, Emergency Department
Cooper provided care and comfort during one of the most difficult cases of his career, when a grandmother and her two grandchildren with autism suffered severe burns in a fire just before Christmas. In addition to the medical care he provided, Cooper organized a drive through his church to help the family rebuild, providing essentials such as food, transportation and hope.
Spotlight Award: Dana Dunlap, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Dunlap supported a family during end-of-life care for their premature baby, creating handcrafted mementos for each sibling and taking photographs the family will cherish. Her compassionate presence ensured the family felt surrounded by love during their loss.
Spotlight Award: Lauren Irvine, Radiology, Ultrasound
Irvine offered emotional support to a patient experiencing a traumatic pregnancy complication. Her empathy and kindness—including staying with the patient, offering comfort and reassurance—left a lasting impression, prompting the patient to nominate her for the award a year later.
The Promise 360 Award is part of Piedmont’s ongoing commitment to recognizing team members who go above and beyond in service to others.
