Snellville, Ga. (October 15, 2025) – As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Piedmont Eastside Medical Center will host its second annual Rock the Ribbon event on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event will take place at the Breast and Diagnostic Center in Medical Plaza 1, located at 1700 Tree Lane, Snellville, Ga. 30078.

Mayor Barbara Bender of Snellville will give the opening remarks, followed by Piedmont Eastside’s diagnostic radiologist, Michael Aho, M.D., who will discuss the importance of screening.

Silvia Garcia, a breast cancer survivor and passionate patient advocate from the East Georgia Cancer Coalition, will give the keynote presentation. Garcia will then lead a special workshop, ‘Caring for the Caregiver’, from 12:45 to 1:30 p.m.

“Caring for someone with breast cancer is a powerful act of love—but it can take a toll on your own well-being,” Garcia said. “Join us for a supportive wellness hour focused on managing stress, sharing the load and taking care of you.”

This event is free and open to the public. Attendees will be able to tour the Breast and Diagnostic Center and register for mammograms.
