Canton, Ga. (August 11, 2025) – Piedmont Heart of Canton is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Leyla Makue to its team of expert cardiologists. Dr. Makue brings over a decade of experience in medicine and a deep commitment to patient-centered cardiovascular care.

Dr. Makue earned her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati and completed her residency at Emory University. She holds an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Central Florida and is board-certified in Cardiology.

Prior to joining Piedmont Heart of Canton, Dr. Makue served as a Hospitalist at Piedmont Rockdale Hospital in Conyers, Georgia. Her clinical expertise lies in general cardiology, with special interests in women’s heart health and preventative cardiology.

She treats a wide range of conditions, including coronary artery disease, chronic high blood pressure, and hyperlipidemia.

Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Makue enjoys hiking, biking, and spending quality time with her family.
