Athens, Ga. (June 2, 2025) – The Piedmont Athens Regional Foundation recently welcomed more than 260 community members to its 10th annual derby-themed Mint Jubilee, held at Live Wire Athens in downtown Athens. This year’s event raised over $221,000 for the Foundation’s Unrestricted Gifts Fund, which supports patient programs and the purchase of medical equipment.
“Celebrating 10 years of the Mint Jubilee highlights the power of our community and its generosity,” said Piedmont Athens Regional Foundation Executive Director Steven Dasher. “Thanks to our dedicated corporate partners and loyal guests, this event has grown into more than a fundraiser—it’s a celebration of purpose, progress, and the people who make it possible.”
Guests were greeted by music from the Hibbs Family Band, a local bluegrass group. Throughout the evening, attendees had the opportunity to enjoy mint juleps, participate in a Bourbon Pull donated by Akins Ford, and a Bubble Pull sponsored by BDR Partners. They also watched a live broadcast of the 151st Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs. Following the race, the Swingin’ Medallions performed for the crowd, concluding an evening dedicated to community and philanthropy.
The Foundation’s Unrestricted Gifts Fund helps enhance the patient experience by covering costs such as medications, transportation to medical appointments, and the purchase of upgraded or replacement equipment to support care.
Next year’s Mint Jubilee is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026.
