Fayetteville, Ga. (Sept. 30, 2020) – For many patients and visitors to Piedmont Fayette Hospital, patient greeter Leon Lee is the first person they see entering the building and he is the last person they see on their way out. On Wednesday, Sept. 30, he was named Piedmont Fayette’s Promise 360 champion for the year.  All of the hospitals in the Piedmont Healthcare system recognize employees who go above and beyond for patients, visitors or their co-workers each month with a Promise 360 award. Recently, the past year’s monthly winners from Piedmont Fayette were honored for their efforts.

Lee was nominated for the extraordinary care and assistance he provided to a visitor late last fall who had an emergency need for the bathroom and couldn’t make it to the facilities quick enough. Lee saw what was happening, helped the gentleman in the bathroom and got him some clean clothes. It was an extraordinary act of compassion that helped the visitor maintain his personal dignity. Lee has been recognized countless times over the years for being compassionate and kind to patients, visitors, and colleagues, both as a patient transporter and a patient greeter.

In addition to the recognition at the event, Lee received $1,000 in honor of his efforts. He will represent Piedmont Fayette at the Piedmont 360 Awards for the entire Piedmont Healthcare system.
