Stockbridge, Ga. (January 31, 2020) – Piedmont Henry Hospital is dedicated to providing educational opportunities for staff, as well as the next generation of healthcare workers. The hospital recently opened its Simulation and Training Lab, which provides vital educational and training opportunities for staff and students at all levels.

“The lab elevates patient care by simulating real life scenarios, including urgent situations. It provides a realistic experience using specialty mannequins that simulate a patient’s need for treatment,” said Paula Butts, Chief Nursing Officer at Piedmont Henry. “Care providers and students respond to various real-world situations and practice their skills in a non-threatening environment.”

The Simulation and Training Lab has been a priority for Piedmont Henry as hospital leaders know there is always a demand for experienced healthcare workers. The project was supported by many engaged stakeholders in the community, particularly Marcia G. Taylor and The Taylor Foundation.

“As a nonprofit hospital, philanthropic support allows us to make ideas, like the Simulation and Training Lab, a reality for our organization,” said Butts. “We are fortunate to have had the support of some very dedicated individuals and businesses for this project.”

The Simulation and Training Lab is located in the Piedmont Henry Education Building. It is just one facet of a comprehensive plan to inspire and educate staff members and students. The hospital also has partnerships with numerous local colleges and the Henry County School System to provide training and educational opportunities throughout the year.
