Description: Job Summary:
Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Oncologist to join our growing, multidisciplinary cancer care team. This is an exciting opportunity to practice at one of Georgia’s leading healthcare systems, known for its commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in surgical oncology and a collaborative approach to cancer treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and manage cancer patients requiring surgical intervention in collaboration with a comprehensive oncology team
- Perform complex oncologic surgical procedures with a focus on optimal oncologic outcomes and organ preservation
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and contribute to the development of personalized treatment plans
- Provide compassionate pre-operative and post-operative care to patients and their families
- Interpret and integrate diagnostic data including imaging, pathology, and biopsy results
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in compliance with Piedmont’s standards and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board certified or board eligible in General Surgery with fellowship training in Surgical Oncology
- Eligible for or hold an active Georgia medical license
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, high-acuity environment
- Commitment to high-quality, evidence-based cancer care
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a health system or academic setting
- Experience with robotic-assisted and minimally invasive oncologic surgery
- Interest in teaching, research, or cancer program development
