Description: Piedmont Healthcare has a great opportunity for a Fellowship trained Gynecological Oncologist to join our Oncology program and start a practice at our Piedmont Rockdale Hospital facility in Conyers, GA. Piedmont Rockdale is a 25-minute reverse commute from Atlanta proper and Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, from a top tiered Fellowship program, ready to grow a practice and become part of the Piedmont Oncology Service line which currently employs 5 Gynecologic Oncologist serving patients at Piedmont Healthcare facilities throughout the state of Georgia with plans for future expansion of the specialty. Candidate must be board certified or board eligible in the specialties and committed to providing high-quality patient centered care. This is a full-time position. Fellows with outstanding references accepted.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform consultations and evaluations of patients
- Recommend and perform appropriate surgical procedures including minimally invasive and robotic surgery
- Prepare and oversee patient oncology treatment plans. Including; chemotherapy, radiation, and palliative care
- Participate in community education and cancer survivor support network development
- Perform hospital rounds on inpatients to include surgical floor and intensive care units
- Communicate patient condition changes to physician and coordinate care
- Interact with nursing staff, pharmacy, radiology and other service lines in hospital
- Answer ER calls
- Perform H&Ps, consults, and write progress notes on inpatients
