About the Conference

More than 30 million children and adults in the United States have diabetes and another 84 million Americans have prediabetes. There are 1.5 million Americans diagnosed with diabetes every year and approximately one-quarter of the cases of diabetes are undiagnosed. Diabetes is the 7th leading cause of death in the United States. Every five minutes, two people die of diabetes-related causes and 14 adults are newly diagnosed. The content and format of the program is oriented to primary care providers to optimize the management and treatment of persons with diabetes. This conference is approved for 5 IPCE credits.

  • Apply clinical decision-making tools to achieve treatment goals for people with diabetes.
  • Employ skills to foster inter-professional team work and team-based, collaborative care for persons with diabetes.
