Prevention, Wellness & Family

  • Lactation Breastfeeding Support Line/Services:

  • First Steps
    Offers emotional support, current parenting information, community resources and follow up contacts to parents of newborns.  The program also offers telephone follow up for the baby’s first three to six months.  Call 770-507-9900 for more information or to volunteer.

     
  • Pregnancy, Childbirth and Infant Care Teen Class
    Class offered twice a year to pregnant teens age 12-19 years old.  Call 678-604-4896 for more information.

Disease Management

  • Diabetes Self-Management
    This program is nationally recognized by the American Diabetes Association. Participants learn about diabetes, management of medications, nutrition, exercise, and much more. Classes are conducted regularly on the hospital campus, and are taught by Certified Diabetes Educators.  To register call 678-604-5188.
     
  • Cancer Wellness Cooking Demonstration offered to Cancer Patients
    Piedmont Henry Hospital hosts cooking demonstrations throughout the year aimed at helping cancer patients. The cooking demonstrations are intended for cancer patients and one guest. Individual appointments with a registered dietitian are also available for cancer patients and survivors. To schedule a one-on-one appointment, please call 770-719-5860.
     
  • Get Moving Again
    A joint surgery pre-operative class.  Meets the last Thursday of the month, 11:00 a.m. to 12 p.m., in the hospital’s South Tower 1st Floor Surgical Waiting Area.  Register through your surgeon’s office.
     
  • Look Good Feel Better
    This program is designed to help women undergoing cancer treatment to regain self-confidence and control over their lives. Meets the third Tuesday of each month from 10a.m. - Noon at Henry Radiation Oncology Center at 960 Hospital Drive. To register, call 800-227-2345, option 1.

  • Al-Anon
    Meets every Wednesday and Saturday 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Piedmont Henry Hospital Foundation Education Center.
     
  • Alateen
    Meets every Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Piedmont Henry Hospital Foundation Education Center.
     
  • Alcoholics Anonymous
    Meets every Wednesday and Saturday 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in the Piedmont Henry Hospital Foundation Education Center. For more information visit: Alcoholics Anonymous Atlanta.
     
  • Cancer Support & Community Resources

  • Diabetes
    Meets the third Tuesday of every other month, beginning in January, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in the Piedmont Henry Hospital Foundation Education Center. Offers support and educational information. Call 678-604-5106. For more information visit: www.diabetes.org.
     
  • General Cancer Support Group
    Meets in the Piedmont Henry Hospital Foundation Education Center. Meeting times vary. Call 678-604-5188 for more information. The General Cancer Support Group is for cancer patients, survivors and their caregivers. It is offered at Piedmont Henry Hospital through Cancer Wellness at Piedmont.
     
  • Grief Support
    Call 678-604-1054 for dates, times and registration.
     
  • Harbor of Hope Breast Cancer Support Group
    Meets second Thursday of each month 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. in Piedmont Henry Hospital’s Foundation Education Center – Classroom A.
     
  • Hearts of Henry
    Meets the first Thursday of the month, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Piedmont Henry Hospital Foundation Education Center.  The group is for anyone with heart disease.  Call 678-575-7746 for more information.
     
  • LaLeche League
    Meets the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Women's Service Classroom located on the 4th floor of the hospital's North Tower.  The LaLeche League is an international, non-profit, non-sectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, mother-to-mother support and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.
     
  • Narcotics Anonymous
    Meets every Friday, 8:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in the Piedmont Henry Hospital Foundation Education Center and Sundays 5:30 p.m. -6:30 p.m. in the Piedmont Henry Hospital Executive Dining Room.
     
  • Rachel's Gift Infant Bereavement Support Group
    For parents, families and friends who have experienced a loss through miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death.  Meets second Thursday of each month in the Foundation Education Center, 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.  Call 770-320-7059 for more information.
     
  • Sisters by Choice (Breast Cancer Support)
    Meets second Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Piedmont Henry Hospital Foundation Education Center.
     
  • Southern Crescent Parents of Multiples
    Meets the fourth Thursday of the month, 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in the Piedmont Henry Hospital Foundation Education Center.
     
  • Southside Weight Loss Surgery Support
    Meets fourth Tuesday monthly, 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. in the Piedmont Henry Hospital Foundation Education Center.
     
  • Stroke Support Information

  • WomenHeart
    Meets the first Tuesday of each month, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in the Piedmont Henry Hospital Foundation Education Center.  Offers support and educational information.  All heart patients or family members are welcome to attend.  Call 678-575-7746 for more information or visit The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease.
