Piedmont Healthcare’s Diabetes Resource Centers are recognized by the American Diabetes Association, ensuring adherence to the National Standards for Diabetes Patient Education.

Diabetes Basics Program

Individual and group classes may include the following topics:

  • Nutrition and meal planning
  • Blood glucose monitoring
  • Prevention of diabetes complications
  • Foot care
  • Diabetes medications
  • Stress management
  • Physical activity
  • Behavior Goals

The Diabetes Resource Centers provide education and training to individuals with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, Gestational Diabetes, Pre-Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome. Instruction is also offered on various insulin delivery systems and continuous glucose monitoring devices.

Since successful diabetes management is a team effort, family members are encouraged to participate in learning.
