Snellville, Ga. (November 3, 2025) – Piedmont Eastside Medical Center’s Chief Executive Officer Larry Ebert was named CEO of the Year for 2025 by the Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals. The Alliance, which represents not-for-profit hospitals and healthcare systems in Georgia, presented the award at their 42nd Annual Conference on October 8.
“As the CEO of Piedmont Eastside, Larry Ebert has shown true leadership in understanding the challenges and needs of their diverse patient base, which includes suburban, exurban and rural communities,” said Monty Veazey, President and CEO of the Alliance. “Larry invested the time and effort to understand the needs of his hospital’s community.”
Under Ebert’s leadership, Piedmont Eastside has experienced growth and capital reinvestment, improving healthcare access for Gwinnett County. Ebert worked to open a freestanding acute inpatient rehabilitation facility to ensure patients have suitable follow-up care. He also partnered with educational institutions, including Georgia Gwinnett College, Gwinnett Tech and McClure Health Science High School, to help address healthcare workforce shortages.
“I’m proud to lead an incredible team at Piedmont Eastside that has increased access to high-quality care for Georgia’s second-largest county,” said Ebert.
Before joining Piedmont Eastside in 2023, Ebert served as CEO of Piedmont Walton Hospital in Monroe, where he was instrumental in tripling the size of the medical staff. He also oversaw a program for nursing students at Athens Technical College’s Walton Campus and Piedmont Walton Hospital.
Ebert first joined Piedmont in 2017 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center. He was a driving force in the planning and execution of strategic initiatives, such as a major construction and renovation project for the hospital’s main campus.
