Snellville, Ga. (Aug. 10, 2022) — Piedmont Eastside Medical Center has announced Liz Jackson, a long-time health-care veteran who has experience with some of North Carolina’s and Georgia’s leading institutions, as the hospital’s new Community Relations Director. In this newly established role, Jackson will help lead community engagement of Piedmont Eastside’s local efforts and associated strategic initiatives. In her role, she will help to build relationships with key stakeholders throughout the communities we serve.
“We are very excited to have in place a highly-experienced Georgia native like Liz, who has great experience in health care not only industry-wide but within Georgia as well,” said Piedmont Eastside CEO Trent Lind. “As we moved from for-profit status to non-profit when we joined Piedmont within the past year, certain roles changed within our organization. This is an extremely important one and we are glad to have it filled, particularly with someone of Liz’s caliber.”
“I am excited to join the Piedmont Eastside team in this new role,” said Jackson. “There are so many opportunities for growth and engagement for Piedmont Eastside with the Gwinnett County community, and I think it’s great timing with the Piedmont integration just celebrating the one-year anniversary. I wanted to be here because I recognize Piedmont Eastside has a great history and they have what it takes to have a bright future. It’s nice to have returned to my home state, where I can be closer to my family and now, be a part of my new family with Piedmont Eastside.”
Jackson comes to Piedmont from UNC Health in Chapel Hill, N.C., where she most recently served as the Director of Orthopedic Clinical Operations. Her past roles also included overseeing the Orthopedic and Neuroscience service lines at Duke Raleigh Hospital, physician practice leadership with Johnston Health, and Inpatient Rehab leadership at Northeast Georgia Medical Center and at the Shepherd Center.
Liz has a B.S. in Physical Therapy from the University of North Carolina and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Georgia State University.
We look forward to her being able to fulfill this role and to be welcomed into the area with open arms.
