The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Names Piedmont Healthcare a Winner of The Atlanta Top Workplaces 2019 Award

Atlanta, Ga. (March 4, 2019) – Piedmont Healthcare has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2019 honor by

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution for the fourth consecutive year. The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC, a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement tools. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.

“Talent is one of the anchors of our organization and, as a result, it is a goal of Piedmont’s to be an employer for a top-tier and diverse workforce,” said Kevin Brown, CEO of Piedmont Healthcare, who has been in his role since 2013. “Earning this award demonstrates that we are living out our values as an organization. We are proud to be recognized as a Top Workplace.”

A private, not-for-profit organization with nearly 660 locations and serving 2 million patients across Georgia, Piedmont’s mission is to transform healthcare, creating a destination known for the best clinicians and a one-of-a-kind experience that always puts patients first. Today, more than 110 years since it was founded, Piedmont is known as a leading health system in cancer care, treatment of heart disease and organ transplantation with 11 hospitals, 24 urgent care centers, 28 Piedmont QuickCare locations, 555 Piedmont Clinic physician practice locations and more than 2,000 Piedmont Clinic members. Piedmont has more than 22,000 employees.

“At Piedmont, we work to foster a culture of inclusion, accountability and teamwork as we seek to provide the highest-quality patient-centered care,” Piedmont Healthcare Chief Human Resources Officer Vicki Cansler said. “We also work hard to achieve a high level of engagement with our employees and these anonymous surveys hold us accountable. We are pleased that such a high percentage of employees at an organization as large as ours took the time to complete the survey and rated their experience with Piedmont so positively.”

“Top Workplaces is more than just recognition,” said Doug Claffey, CEO of Energage. “Our research shows organizations that earn the award attract better talent, experience lower turnover, and are better equipped to deliver bottom-line results. Their leaders prioritize and carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement. Becoming a Top Workplace isn’t something organizations can buy. It’s an achievement organizations have worked for and a distinction that gives them a competitive advantage. It’s a big deal.”
