Cardiometabolic Therapies

Piedmont Heart Grand Rounds:

Cardiometabolic syndrome is a combination of metabolic dysfunctions that increase the risk for cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. Piedmont Heart cardiologist Dr. Jaime Burkle discusses cardiometabolic therapies, focusing on what he calls “arguably the most important new class of cardiovascular medications, SGL-2 inhibitors.” He helps cardiologists understand the benefits and risks of these new classes of drugs in cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.
