Conyers, Ga. (Oct. 1, 2020) – Piedmont Rockdale Hospital and Piedmont Physicians Group are pleased to announce that general surgeon, Mitra Dean Poorak, M.D., has joined Piedmont Physicians Surgical Specialists Conyers. Dr. Poorak’s office is located at 1301 Sigman Road, Suite 180 in Conyers.

Dr. Poorak earned a Doctor of Medicine degree and completed a general surgery residency at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University in Augusta, Ga. Her specialties and medical interests include minimal access surgery and surgical critical care. 

Dr. Poorak is from Atlanta and has volunteered with Grady Memorial Hospital, the Atlanta Medical Examiner’s Office, Shepherd Center, as well as served on a medical mission trip with CerviCusco in Peru. Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Poorak worked with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as part of a team researching malaria.
