Piedmont Henry Adds HALO Bassinests to Help Moms Get Closer to Their Babies

Stockbridge, Ga. (September 19, 2019) – Piedmont Henry Hospital is helping moms and their babies get closer in a safe, more convenient way, with the addition of HALO Bassinests™.

The new sleepers replace the traditional hospital bassinets and have an adjustable-height, 360-degree swivel design, which allows a mother to position her newborn for safe and easy access for skin-to-skin contact, breastfeeding and care.

“The design allows for the bassinet to be at the mother’s level and to swing around so that she can be comfortable in bed while caring for her baby without bending or lifting, said Kenya Cottrell, Director of Women’s Services at Piedmont Henry. “It is especially useful for our high risk mothers and women who have had C-sections.”

Not only can mothers tend to their babies’ needs from their own beds, but the clear bedside walls of the HALO Bassinest™ let them keep an eye on their babies so they can rest without losing eye contact and physical touch.

“These are also the perfect beds to allow us to teach parents about safe sleep and practice safe sleep in the hospital,” said Cottrell. “It is important that we model safe sleep behaviors in the hospital so that parents continue these safe practices when they are at home.”

The HALO Bassinest™ ensures a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for families during their stays at Piedmont Henry.
