Takotsobu Cardiomyopathy: 'Fight or Flight' Can Be Different for Women

Takotsobu cardiomyopathy, known as “broken heart syndrome,” is most often triggered by emotional stress. At Piedmont Heart’s Napa Valley Cardiology Conference, Dr. Anna Kalynych shares an interesting case of a 78-year-old female patient, who upon the death of her husband gets so short of breath that she has to miss his funeral. Dr. Kalynych looks at why the ‘fight or flight’ stress response can be different in women than men.
