Where can I serve?

It is important that the priority areas be assigned first. These areas include:

  • Ambulatory
  • Gift Shop
  • Greeter
  • The Information Desk

There are other areas such as couriers and several office support functions. You will be placed in an area which your talents and skills would be most beneficial.

How much time can I devote to volunteering?

Auxiliary Members are asked to donate 100 hours or more each year.

A regular shift is 4 hours per week, but you may work more.

How much does it cost?

There is no cost to join the Auxiliary.  In addition, volunteers are provided a meal on the day they work and are given a uniform.

Will I receive any training?

All Auxiliary members are required to attend an Orientation session. You will receive training from the hospital staff, service chairman or senior volunteers. Auxiliary members are given the opportunity to observe in several different areas.

What else is involved?

Auxiliary members will be asked to participate in fund-raisers during the year. There are also quarterly meetings to attend (January, April, July, and October). These meetings give you the opportunity to meet all the Auxiliary members and form friendships with other members. There are opportunities to attend district and state meetings as well.

If I am employed, is there a place for me?

Yes, if you are able to make a commitment outside of your part-time or full-time job. Remember we are seeking long-term commitments and would like for you to be with us for years to come. There are volunteer positions scheduled in the evenings and on weekends if available.
