Goals

• To learn how to best evaluate and treat lipid disorders in order to prevent coronary and vascular disease.
• To learn about pulmonary hypertension and new approaches in its management.
• To determine when peripheral vascular disease should be treated medically and surgically.
• To determine which is better for atrial fibrillation - control of rate or control of rhythm.
• To understand the management of heart failure and when to use drugs, biventricular pacing or assist devices.
• To appreciate the different presentations and care of heart disease in men and women.
• To learn which imaging modality is best for which heart disease.
• To learn how to decipher electrocardiograms and rhythm disturbances.
• To determine how to evaluate chest pain.

Fees

Registration is $125 for physicians and $75 for non-physicians. This includes the cost of the program, course materials, meals and parking. There is no registration fee for Piedmont Healthcare employees.

Accreditation

Piedmont Healthcare is accredited by the Medical Association of Georgia (MAG) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Piedmont Hospital designates this educational activity for a maximum number of 5.5 “AMA PRA Category 1 Credits”. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Piedmont Healthcare is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Georgia Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. 5.5 Contact Hours.
