Awards and Recognition
PHRI Research Investigators and their research teams have been recognized for professional achievement and excellence in the research field. The following awards and recognitions demonstrate significant achievement in research and exemplify the high standards by which research is undertaken at Piedmont Healthcare.
- Dr. Harold Carlson and the cardiovascular research team received the award for the top enrolling site for the RISE study in November 2006.
- Dr. Dan Dan and the cardiovascular research team were recognized for the first implant in the MENDMI study by Guidant Corporation in May 2005.
- The cardiovascular research team was recognized as the highest enrolling community site in the NIH's BARI 2D Study in May 2005.
- Dr. Charles Brown and the cardiovascular research team were recognized for achieving a 97 percent eight-month angiographic compliance on the SIRIUS Trial by Cordis Corporation in August 2002.
- The cardiovascular research team was given the "Outstanding Monitor Recognition for Study Coordinators Who Show Excellence in Study Maintenance Award" by Boston Scientific in June 1999.
- The Cardiovascular Research Department was recognized as a "Top Ten Enrollment Site" for the SPORT Trial by Boston Scientific in November 1998.
