The tricuspid valve is the largest of the four heart valves and often the most mysterious, with increasing importance in advancing the treatment of structural and valvular heart disease. 3-D Echo 360 conference presenter Dr. Denisa Muraru, cardiologist at the University of Padua in Italy, sat down with Dr. Randy Martin of Piedmont’s Marcus Heart Valve Center to discuss the anatomy of the tricuspid valve as well as the values of echocardiography, especially 3-D echo, for assessing the anatomy and function of the tricuspid valve.
