Dr. Carlos Zayas is a transplant nephrologist at Piedmont Transplant Institute and the chief scientific officer for Piedmont Healthcare. Dr. Zayas specializes in kidney diseases and transplantation, nephrology and transplant nephrology and his special interests include chronic allograft nephrology, sickle cell glomerulopathy, polyoma BK nephritis, non-melanoma skin cancers, working with living donors and providing minorities with better access to transplantations.
Dr. Zayas received his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico and completed his residency at Emory University School of Medicine.
