Macon, Ga. (Nov. 17, 2022) – Piedmont Urgent Care has opened a second location at 5791 Zebulon Road in Macon, and a ribbon-cutting celebration is planned for 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18.
The event will be put on jointly by Piedmont Urgent Care by WellStreet and The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce. Chamber members will be joined by executive leaders of Piedmont Macon Medical Center and Piedmont Macon North, along with WellStreet representatives. Earlier this year, Piedmont opened its first Urgent Care in Macon at 2410 Ingleside Ave.
“We are excited to add our second clinic to the Macon community,” WellStreet CEO Lisa Mikkelsen said. “We lend support to primary care physicians and their patients during extended hours, nights and weekends, particularly if their offices are closed. Most importantly, we are committed to delivering uncompromising care to every patient.”
Piedmont Urgent Care by WellStreet provides virtual and walk-in treatment for non-life-threatening illness and injury seven days a week from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. They are an excellent alternative to busy emergency departments and during times when traditional primary care offices are not open. These facilities also feature warm, welcoming environments and onsite digital X-ray capabilities. The Piedmont Urgent Care locations also accept most major insurance plans, including Medicare, and have competitive self-pay rates.
Piedmont Urgent Care visits can be used for common cold symptoms, such as cough, sore throat, nasal drainage and ear pain. In addition to walk-in care for minor injuries and illnesses, Piedmont offers COVID-19 testing, flu testing and treatment, vaccinations (non-COVID-19), and physicals.
