Covington, Ga. (Sept. 7, 2021) – Piedmont Newton Hospital and Piedmont Physicians Group are pleased to announce that Melissa Rienstra, M.D., has joined Piedmont Physicians of Social Circle. Dr. Rienstra specializes in internal medicine. Her office is located at 551 North Cherokee Road, Social Circle, GA 30025.

Dr. Rienstra offers comprehensive preventive care as well as the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, COPD, heart disease and arthritis. Her special interests include preventative care and women's health.

Dr. Rienstra earned her medical degree at Mercer University School of Medicine. She then completed a residency in internal medicine at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.

Dr. Rienstra and her husband are both originally from Covington.
