Conyers, Ga. (Sept. 10, 2020) – Piedmont Rockdale Hospital and Piedmont Physicians Group are pleased to announce that gastroenterologist, Shahzad Ahmed, M.D., has joined Piedmont Physicians Gastroenterology. Dr. Ahmed’s office is located at 1301 Sigman Road, Suite 170 in Conyers.

Dr. Ahmed specializes in gastroenterology and hepatology. He offers services and treatments for autoimmune liver diseases, colon cancer screening, colonoscopy, Crohn’s Disease, gastroesophageal reflux (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), hepatitis (A, B, C), liver diseases, obesity, pancreatitis, ulcerative colitis, as well as other gastrointestinal disorders.  

Dr. Ahmed earned his medical degree at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington, CT. He then attended Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles where he completed a residency in internal medicine, as well as a clinical nutrition fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Ahmed completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at Emory University. During this time, he also received specialized training in inflammatory bowel disease from Northwestern University in Chicago.
